Nov 19, 2018. Flash 8 isn't legal, but I saw that Macromedia Flash MX 2004, which is an older version by two years, IS legally free, as the serial code for activation is on Adobe's website itself. The download unfortunately isn't on Adobe's website, but you can find another website and use VirusTotal online to scan the download.
The Macromedia Flash help system contains a great deal of information and resources that describe the full range of Flash authoring capabilities and the ActionScript language. You can also consult many online resources to learn Flash.

Flash Player runs SWF files that can be created by the Adobe Flash authoring tool, by Adobe Flex or by a number of other Macromedia and third party tools. Flash Player was created by Macromedia and now developed and distributed by Adobe Systems.
